Twisty Table

A jellyfish of iron and wood, incorporating driftwood from Vancouver's coast

This avante-garde work from Miran embodies the artist's philosophy of creating pragmatic works which serve a utilitarian purpose in addition to being a work of art.

This table echoes nature in its every aspect. The natural driftwood top from BC's coastline sits atop twisting iron legs reminiscent of a jellyfish's tentacles, it seems almost miraculous that through the complexity of this work's geometry, the table remains sturdy.

A combination of mediums, the twisted table combines expert ironworking with careful selection, processing, and blending of wood in order to build a cohesive and engaging piece.
